Overview Power and Water Corporation (PWC) is seeking a supplier to provide trade apprentices, trainees and graduates under a Group Training Arrangement for a period of 36 months. About PWC has been a host employer of apprentices, interns, undergraduates, graduates and trainees for many years and views the ongoing intake of these participants as an important aspect of continuing its workforce development. Power and Water is committed through its Reconciliation Action Plan to increasing Aboriginal employment, participation and career development opportunities across the organisation. Apprenticeships, traineeships, internships, undergraduate and graduate programs form a key employment pathway to support this commitment. The commitment to increasing the number of Aboriginal participants within the organisation is underpinned by culturally appropriate support for both supervisors and participants to ensure they thrive. PWC currently serves as host employer for approximately 39 apprentices, 16 trainees (13 Business and 3 Water Operations), 2 undergraduates and 17 graduates, with annual wage costs of approximately $4.31 million. In addition, PWC also directly employs and manages participants in a number of internal workforce development initiatives, including qualification-only programs and internal workforce pathway programs. Purpose PWC is committed to supporting apprentices through to successful completion of their apprenticeship and transition into ongoing employment. The supplier will play a key role in ensuring continuity of employment during the transition from apprenticeship completion to employment, reducing the risk of losing skilled workers due to administrative or licensing delays. The contract will support the development of targeted workforce pathway programs that strengthen participation from identified priority cohorts and build sustainable employment pathways into Power and Water's Early Careers Programs. Scope The scope includes: Supply of trade apprentices, trainees and graduates to Power and Water Corporation under a Group Training Arrangement Support for continuity of employment during the transition from apprenticeship completion to ongoing employment Contract Terms and Conditions Contract period: 36 months
