Litchfield Council manages and maintains the local council road network within the Litchfield Municipality. Hopewell and Finn Road are rural arterial roads within the council road network but are classed as a Category 1 and 2 roads respectively for the purpose of implementing Temporary Traffic Management. Both are situated in the Berry Springs area, providing north south connection between Cox Peninsula Road and Old Bynoe Road and Cox Peninsula Road and Jenkins Road. Following a condition assessment of the roads, pavement failures have been observed at various locations (9) along both roads, most of which are within the Berry Creek Floodplain area as well as the Hardys Creek Floodplain. These locations require pavement rehabilitation works. Litchfield Council seeks quotations from suitably qualified contractors to undertake pavement rehabilitation works at three identified pavement failure locations on Hopewell Road and seven on Finn Road. The works include excavation and disposal of failed pavement material, preparation of the existing subgrade, construction of a cement stabilised Type 2 gravel pavement, shoulder reinstatement, spray sealing, and associated traffic management.
