About this tender

Overview The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), through New Zealand Government Procurement (NZGP), is seeking information from providers that offer travel management services. This is a Request for Information (RFI) and not a tendering opportunity. About NZGP currently holds an All-of-Government (AoG) contract for Travel Management Services, which was established in 2019 and is due to expire in June 2028. The current arrangement provides government agencies with access to travel management providers for booking and managing business travel throughout New Zealand and internationally. Purpose NZGP would like to understand how the market is performing and how it may have changed throughout the term of the existing contract. Since the contract was established in 2019, customer expectations, technology capabilities, reporting requirements, traveller wellbeing considerations, sustainability objectives, and value-for-money expectations have continued to evolve. This RFI will inform NZGP's planning for its return to market. Information Requested NZGP is seeking responses from both current panel providers and providers not currently on the panel. The response form has been designed to capture information that will be useful in planning the return to market. Instructions to Respondents Respondents must read the response form in full and follow all instructions This is not a tendering opportunity and no contract will be awarded from this process Participation will not guarantee a place on the panel, nor will it result in shortlisting Deciding not to respond will not restrict a provider from responding to any opportunities in the future Enquiries Contact: May Chin travel.coe@mbie.govt.nz

How to respond to this tender

A strong tender response is clear, compliant, and backed by evidence. These steps apply to most Australian and New Zealand public tenders.

Read the requirements in full

Open the official listing and download the full tender pack. Note the response schedules, evaluation criteria, mandatory conditions, and the exact closing time and lodgement method.

Confirm you are eligible and it is worth bidding

Check licences, insurances, certifications, and any conformance requirements before you commit. A quick bid or no-bid decision saves days of wasted effort on a tender you cannot win.

Answer every criterion with evidence

Respond to each evaluation criterion directly and back your claims with concrete examples, referees, and past performance. Address the buyer’s stated need, not a generic capability statement.

Lodge early through the official portal

Submit through the source portal well before the deadline. Late or incorrectly lodged bids are almost always rejected, so leave time for uploads, portal errors, and last-minute questions.
