Digital Writing Tool
Tender Overview
About this tender
The Ministry is conducting an open market procurement for an “out of the box” product for a digital writing tool, this will include any associated licences, training and support for the product. The Ministry may require some configuration but not customisation. The digital writing tool will serve as a universal learning support programme for all Year 6-8 students learning through the New Zealand Curriculum (NZC). The Ministry is looking for a supplier with specialist knowledge on delivering proven online writing programmes for students to supply an online tool that aligns with the NZC. The Ministry will not be providing any content, and the supplier is expected to make any content changes to ensure alignment with the NZC. The key objectives of the digital writing tool sought by the Ministry are that it will: • support clear, explicit and structured teaching • build core writing and spelling skills • support students at different year levels with specific writing goals • give students regular, specific feedback and help track their progress • make learning more engaging and accessible • provide strong support for teachers to support them to use the solution effectively • help students organise their writing and use language effectively • reflect the identities, cultures, and communities relevant to Aotearoa New Zealand • provide reporting on the tool to show the shift in student achievement, the effectiveness of the tool and return on investment to the Ministry. PLEASE NOTE - WHILST THIS WILL BE MOSTLY ASSESSED VIA A PRESENTATION, AS OUTLINED IN THE RFP SUPPLIERS NEED TO CONFIRM THEY MEET PRE-CONDITIONS, MAKE DECLARATIONS, COMPLETE CHECKLISTS AND SUBMIT A PRICING RESPONSE BEFORE THEY WILL BE ALLOWED TO PRESENT. ALL DOCUMENTATION NEEDS TO BE SUBMITTED AND PREFERRED PRESENTATION DATES ADVISED TO THE MINISTRY. Contact: Darren Stafford Telephone: 04 439 5433
How to respond to this tender
A strong tender response is clear, compliant, and backed by evidence. These steps apply to most Australian and New Zealand public tenders.
Read the requirements in full
Open the official listing and download the full tender pack. Note the response schedules, evaluation criteria, mandatory conditions, and the exact closing time and lodgement method.
Confirm you are eligible and it is worth bidding
Check licences, insurances, certifications, and any conformance requirements before you commit. A quick bid or no-bid decision saves days of wasted effort on a tender you cannot win.
Answer every criterion with evidence
Respond to each evaluation criterion directly and back your claims with concrete examples, referees, and past performance. Address the buyer’s stated need, not a generic capability statement.
Lodge early through the official portal
Submit through the source portal well before the deadline. Late or incorrectly lodged bids are almost always rejected, so leave time for uploads, portal errors, and last-minute questions.
