Elmwood Normal School - Demolition - Main Contract Works

Overview The Ministry of Education (NZ) is seeking a contractor to carry out demolition works at Elmwood Normal School in Merivale, Christchurch. About Elmwood Normal School is a State Contributing Normal school situated in the central city suburb of Merivale, Christchurch. It offers a six-year programme catering for Years 0 to 6 children, who then proceed to intermediate schools. Purpose CSR rebuild works at the school have now been completed, with new two-storey blocks constructed. The old two blocks are now surplus to requirements and are to be removed. The school is still deciding on how to best utilise the cleared space, but at this stage the expectation is for the site to be left hard compacted and safe. Scope The scope includes: Demolition and removal of the two old surplus blocks at Elmwood Normal School Leaving the cleared site hard compacted and safe Should any further works be required, this will be negotiated during construction.
