About this tender

Overview Albany Senior High School is seeking a main roofing contractor to replace the existing gymnasium roof, including associated minor structural work, weatherproofing work and potential minor roof-space ventilation work. About The 10-year Property Plan prepared in June 2024 described roof repair, but a subsequent review identified that a full long-run metal roof replacement is the project scope. One corroded metal purlin line is known to require like-for-like replacement. The existing roof is approximately 18 years old. The long-run metal sheets and identified purlin corrosion make isolated repair unsuitable as the base scope. Early engagement with Auckland Council indicates that these works are exempt from Consent under schedule 1 of the Building Act 2004. Written confirmation of this will be obtained before contract execution. Purpose The outcome sought is a durable, weathertight gymnasium roof, with complete inspection, warranties and handover records, while protecting the School and gymnasium throughout the works. Scope The scope includes: Replacement of the existing gymnasium long-run metal roof Associated minor structural work Weatherproofing work Potential minor roof-space ventilation work Like-for-like replacement of one identified corroded metal purlin line Installation of suitable underlay, flashings, closures and interfaces Repair of identified deteriorated support and fixing components Protection of the School and gymnasium during the works Inspection, provision of warranties and completion of handover records Contractor Requirements Compliance with all relevant specifications contained in the MoE "Weathertightness Design Requirements for School Buildings (v3.2)" section 10 Contract Terms and Conditions Mobilisation (physical works start): 15 December 2026 Target Practical Completion: 20 January 2027 Programme margin: to 27 January 2027, for weather, latent conditions and minor defect remediation

How to respond to this tender

A strong tender response is clear, compliant, and backed by evidence. These steps apply to most Australian and New Zealand public tenders.

Open the official listing and download the full tender pack. Note the response schedules, evaluation criteria, mandatory conditions, and the exact closing time and lodgement method.

Confirm you are eligible and it is worth bidding

Check licences, insurances, certifications, and any conformance requirements before you commit. A quick bid or no-bid decision saves days of wasted effort on a tender you cannot win.

Answer every criterion with evidence

Respond to each evaluation criterion directly and back your claims with concrete examples, referees, and past performance. Address the buyer’s stated need, not a generic capability statement.

Lodge early through the official portal
