Overview The Ministry of Education (NZ) is seeking registrations of interest from main contractors to upgrade the water supply at Ahipara School. Scope The scope includes: Upgrading the school's roofwater harvesting system, including cleaning roofs, modifying downpipes, installing new underground collection manifolds, leaf screens, first-flush diverters, overflow systems, and reconnecting roof catchments to new storage tanks Supplying and installing a new water storage system, including multiple new 25,000 L raw water tanks, a 15,000 L treated water tank, all interconnecting pipework, valves, level monitoring, foundations, and associated fittings Constructing and fitting out a new water treatment plant shed, relocating existing equipment into it, and installing filtration, UV treatment, pumps, controls, flow meters, electrical services, and associated instrumentation Undertaking all associated civil works, including excavation, engineered tank foundations, geogrid installation, trenching, site surveys, relocation of bore water infrastructure, and reinstatement of disturbed areas Decommissioning and replacing existing water infrastructure, including removing redundant tanks, disconnecting obsolete pipework, demolishing the existing treatment shed, and connecting the new system to the school's potable and non-potable distribution networks Completing commissioning and handover, including testing and disinfecting the system, providing as-built documentation, operation and maintenance manuals, commissioning reports, operator training, warranties, critical spares, and certification Contract Terms and Conditions Indicative start date: 12/12/2026 Indicative due date for completion: 31/03/2027 Limitations: Works to be completed during school holidays where they affect the school's potable water supply Enquiries All enquiries are to be made through the GETS Question & Answer function.
