RTG Boundary Markers Hauraki Gulf

Overview The Department of Conservation is seeking to engage suitably experienced and capable contractors for a future procurement opportunity involving the supply of materials and installation of land-based boundary markers associated with marine High Protection Areas within the Hauraki Gulf. About While the final scope is still being confirmed, the Schedule of Works is currently expected to comprise approximately 16-24 markers, with the majority of sites requiring marine access. The Department intends to separately undertake marker design, site surveying and set out, required approvals with Maritime New Zealand and any other authorities, and landowner and stakeholder engagement. Scope The contract works are expected to include: Procurement of materials based on a prescribed marker design Installation of boundary markers at nominated sites Management of all logistics associated with the works Adherence to pest-free protocols, including pre-departure inspection of materials by pest detection dogs and handlers at most locations Preparation and submission of site-specific health and safety plans, or a single comprehensive plan covering all sites Contract Terms and Conditions A 12-month defects liability period will apply, including standard retention provisions Subject to planning activities being completed, installation works are anticipated to be ready to commence from January 2027 Instructions to Tenderers This is a Future Procurement Opportunity notice, intended to advise the market of potential upcoming opportunities which may or may not be progressed.
