Overview Rio Tinto Limited is seeking Expressions of Interest for the Kangwinan Project for the design and construction of the facilities and services comprising the Mine Infrastructure Area (MIA). The Works include development of the Company-provided concept layouts through to Issue for Construction (IFC). Scope The scope includes project management, engineering design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover of all MIA facilities, including transportation, factory and site acceptance testing, documentation, and operational training for Company personnel. All works shall be executed in accordance with the Contract and comply with all applicable statutory, quality, and project requirements. Facilities Included The MIA comprises the following facilities and supporting infrastructure: Heavy Mine Equipment (HME) Workshop HME Refuelling HME Maintenance Wash HME Body Wash Water Truck Fill Point Waste Transfer Facility Tyre Change Facility Area Lighting HME Warehouse Facility Potable Water and Wastewater Systems Compressed Air Fire Protection Telecommunications and communications infrastructure Fuel Storage and Light Vehicle Refuelling facilities The Works Detailed engineering design and documentation development to Issue for Construction (IFC) Procurement, supply, transportation, construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of all facilities and associated infrastructure Construction and installation of all facilities, including foundations, structural steelwork, building systems, service reticulation, utilities (water, wastewater, electrical, communications), and fire protection systems Provision of compressed air systems for specific facilities Post-construction cleaning and site reinstatement Coordination of tie-ins and interfaces with existing facilities and services Development and implementation of modularisation strategies to maximise off-site fabrication and reduce on-site construction activities Provision of utility services, including water distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, electrical distribution, fire systems, and communications networks for new and existing facilities Disciplines The Works include, but are not limited to, the following disciplines: Architectural works Detailed earthworks and drainage Electrical and instrumentation systems Fire protection services Hydraulic and water systems Mechanical and Piping (PDP) systems Structural Telecommunications and communications infrastructure Contractor Requirements The selected Contractor shall provide all management, supervision, labour, tools, consumables and operating supplies, plant and equipment, materials, incidentals, specified equipment and furnishings, and perform all necessary operations required for the Scope of Works described The Contractor shall comply with all applicable Rio Tinto Standards, Australian / local regulations, statutory requirements, and Australian codes and standards as specified in the detailed scope of work provided to Bid participants Eligibility Expressions of interest are being sought from Contractors who can complete the whole scope of works. Expressions of interest may be for all or part of the scope of works described. Local and Indigenous businesses are encouraged to participate.
