C2C- Substation Bulk Earthworks - Calvale to Calliope River Transmission Line Reinforcement Project

Overview Zinfra is preparing to undertake procurement activities for the provision of bulk earthworks to support delivery of the Calvale to Calliope (C2C) Project in Central Queensland, on behalf of Powerlink Queensland. The package will support substation construction activities, including site preparation, cut and fill, excavation, placement and compaction of engineered fill, grading, drainage and other associated earthworks required for the construction and establishment of substation facilities. Purpose The objective of this package is to engage a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to undertake the bulk earthworks, drainage, access and reinstatement works required to facilitate the construction of new 275kV Bays at the Calvale Substation. Scope The works comprise the bulk earthworks, civil construction, drainage, access and reinstatement works required to extend the existing Calvale 275kV switchyard to accommodate two new Bays, including associated line entry and tower footing areas. The scope includes: Site clearing, grubbing and preparation of areas for the new bay extensions, tower footings and line entries Removal and management of existing surface aggregate, including relocation or disposal of stockpiled material Demolition and removal of redundant structures or equipment where required to facilitate the bay extensions Bulk excavation, cut and fill, subgrade preparation and formation of the new switchyard platforms Supply, placement and compaction of suitable fill materials as required Construction of temporary crane pads and equipment hardstands required to support construction and installation activities Relocation and associated works for the existing helipad Provision and maintenance of temporary and permanent drainage associated with the works Identification, management and compliant disposal of acid sulfate soils, asbestos-containing material and other contaminated or unsuitable materials, where encountered Reinstatement of approved weed control measures and disturbed areas Reinstatement of surface aggregate across Bays in accordance with project specifications Extension and reinstatement of the electrical security fencing around the expanded switchyard Provision of all labour, supervision, plant, equipment, materials, testing and temporary works necessary to complete the works
