DLGWV2025-0153 - Construction of the Cherbourg Water Treatment Plant Upgrade
Tender Overview
About this tender
The Department of Local Government, Water and Volunteers is seeking to engage a contractor to undertake the Construction of the Cherbourg Water Treatment Plant Upgrade to address long-standing challenges with drinking water quality in the community. These challenges include persistent Boil Water Advisories (BWAs), low chlorine residuals, E.coli detections, and elevated disinfection by-products, primarily caused by ageing infrastructure, limited instrumentation, and inadequate treatment processes at the existing facility. The project aims to implement critical improvements to eliminate these risks and ensure the community has access to a safe, reliable, and sustainable drinking water supply. Please note that a site visit and an industry briefing will be held as follows: Site Visit - 5 May 2026 at 10 am Industry Briefing - 7 May 2026 at 10 am Tenderers are required to register their attendance by sending an email to Procurement@dlgwv.qld.gov.au to the attention of Florine Vega-Hughes, detailing the name/s and contact details of attendees (email address and mobile number). How to respond to this tender
A strong tender response is clear, compliant, and backed by evidence. These steps apply to most Australian and New Zealand public tenders.
Read the requirements in full
Open the official listing and download the full tender pack. Note the response schedules, evaluation criteria, mandatory conditions, and the exact closing time and lodgement method.
Confirm you are eligible and it is worth bidding
Check licences, insurances, certifications, and any conformance requirements before you commit. A quick bid or no-bid decision saves days of wasted effort on a tender you cannot win.
Answer every criterion with evidence
Respond to each evaluation criterion directly and back your claims with concrete examples, referees, and past performance. Address the buyer’s stated need, not a generic capability statement.
Lodge early through the official portal
Submit through the source portal well before the deadline. Late or incorrectly lodged bids are almost always rejected, so leave time for uploads, portal errors, and last-minute questions.
