Overview Powerlink is delivering a portfolio of electricity transmission projects across Central Queensland to ensure the security of energy supply and the stability of the grid. This is a critical step in reinforcing the network, enabling the transition of power assets such as Gladstone Power Station with new energy sources while maintaining system strength and reliability. These projects are at varying stages of planning, assessment and delivery and will be implemented progressively, subject to regulatory approvals, investment decisions and funding processes. Powerlink is using a coordinated, program level approach across its Central Queensland projects to maximise opportunities for local and Indigenous businesses, while ensuring safe, efficient and reliable delivery of critical transmission infrastructure. Central Queensland Project Portfolio Powerlink's current Central Queensland project portfolio includes the following projects. Gladstone Project The Gladstone Project is a multi-stage program of transmission upgrades to strengthen and increase capacity of the electricity network in the Gladstone region. This critical program of transmission upgrades will ensure the safety and reliability of the electricity network as the region prepares for the eventual retirement of the Gladstone Power Station, and heavy industry moves toward electrification of their operations increasing demand on the network. The Gladstone Project is being planned and delivered in stages, subject to regulatory approvals, funding decisions and the Queensland Government's Priority Transmission Investment (PTI) process. Stage 1 - Calvale to Calliope River Transmission Line Reinforcement Stage 1 involves delivery of the Calvale to Calliope River Transmission Line Reinforcement Project, including a new transmission line and works at existing substations to improve network capacity and resilience. Calvale to Calliope River Transmission Line Reinforcement Project | Powerlink Stage 2 - Bouldercombe to Larcom Creek Reinforcement Stage 2 includes the Bouldercombe to Larcom Creek Reinforcement Project, which will further strengthen the transmission network servicing the Gladstone region and support forecast load growth. Bouldercombe to Larcom Creek Reinforcement Project | Powerlink Theodore Wind Farm Connection Project Transmission infrastructure to enable the connection of the Theodore Wind Farm to the Queensland electricity transmission network. Theodore Wind Farm Connection Project | Powerlink Banana Range Wind Farm Connection Project Transmission infrastructure to enable the connection of the Banana Range Wind Farm to the Queensland electricity transmission network. Banana Range Wind Farm Connection Project | Powerlink General Expression of Interest Powerlink Pty Ltd encourages local businesses to register an expression of interest (EOI) for "Any opportunities" package through the Gateway by ICN webpage, this EOI may be used for any opportunities or multiple packages across precinct sites. Powerlink will use this EOI process to seek suitably qualified vendors to undertake these works and selected pre-qualified vendors will be Invited to Tender where a more detailed Works Scope will be made available.
