About this tender
Overview Fraser Coast Regional Council is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from suitably qualified and experienced Proponents to carry out sand extraction from Dayman Spit for the purpose of beach nourishment along the foreshore of Hervey Bay at specific locations. About The project has resulted from a significant loss of sand from the Hervey Bay foreshore associated with Tropical Cyclone (TC) Alfred in March 2025. Council has received $6.282 million funding from the Queensland Government (Department of Environment, Tourism, Science & Innovation, DETSI) to undertake beach nourishment works along the Hervey Bay foreshore to address the loss of sand associated with TC Alfred. Scope The scope includes: Sand extraction from Dayman Spit Beach nourishment along the foreshore of Hervey Bay at specific locations Tender Briefing and Site Inspection A briefing or site inspection is mandatory for this EOI. Date: Thursday 30 July 2026 Time: 10:30am to 3:00pm Location: Initial site briefing will start at Council's Ellengowan Street Depot (41 Ellengowan Street, Urangan QLD 4655), followed by site visits to Urangan Pier, including Dayman Spit, Torquay Jetty and Scarness Jetty Booking Required: Yes Booking Contact: procurement@frasercoast.qld.gov.au Dress Code / PPE: Long sleeve shirt and long pants, enclosed shoes, sun hat and sunscreen Information Requested Tender response forms are to be submitted as two files only and in the following format: EOI Response Form: PDF including all supporting documentation as one file.
