Overview Torres Specials Island Regional Council is seeking a contractor to carry out bathroom, toilet and laundry modification works at Lot 70 Yessie Street, Warraber under reference MI187816 (DISMOD DM-3514). Scope The scope includes: Bathroom Supply and install a 900-1200mm horizontal grab rail in the shower, positioned on the tap wall, 850mm above floor level, adjusted in length to match available studs, with at least 50mm clearance from the new lever tap handles (see Fig 1) Remove and dispose of the current shower head and supply and install a grab rail/shower kit, with the handheld shower mounted on a friction sliding mount with a non-return valve (no push me pull me rod), the vertical grab rail mounted centrally with 50mm clearance from the tap and the base of the rail set at 1000-1100mm above floor level, ensuring lights, switches and socket outlets conform to current electrical code requirements in consideration of the new handheld shower hose installation (recommended product: Con-Serv Commercial kit 3, HS 01803 C, or similar) (see Fig 1) Remove and dispose of the existing shower taps and supply and install 1/4 turn ceramic disc taps with lever handles (see Fig 1), noting that lever handles installed on a vertical surface such as wall mounted sink taps, the laundry tub, shower and bath should hang vertical when off and rotate out and upward to turn on Supply and install a foldaway, wall mounted shower seat with stainless steel frame, tension hinges, high density polyethylene seat with self-draining channels and supporting leg framework complying with AS1428.1 (2021), measuring 600mm x 400mm, mounted on the side wall of the shower recess so the taps are on the right side when seated, installed at 480mm AFL and positioned 100mm from the tap wall with adequate clearance to fold past the existing grab rail (recommended product: Conserv safe-assist folding shower seat SS604SS, or similar) (see Fig 1) Supply and install a hook on the tap wall of the shower suitable for hanging a shower caddie, in liaison with the client (see Fig 1) Toilet Remove and dispose of the existing toilet pedestal (see Fig 2) Supply and install a new disability toilet pedestal in the same location, with a solid double flap toilet seat with buffers and metal hinges, an overall seat height of 460-480mm and no backrest required Laundry Remove and dispose of the existing taps in the laundry and supply and install 1/4 turn ceramic disc taps with lever handles (Fig 1), noting that lever handles installed on a vertical surface such as wall mounted sink taps, the laundry tub, shower and bath should hang vertical when off and rotate out and upward to turn on Contractor Requirements The foldaway shower seat must comply with AS1428.1 (2021)
