Townsville & District Rugby Union Inc (Tdru) Sports Field 1 Lighting Repair And Restoration

Overview PlanPac, acting as the Project Manager on behalf of Townsville & District Rugby Union Inc (TDRU), is seeking formal tender submissions from suitably qualified and experienced Design & Construct (D&C) Electrical Contractors for the complete turnkey design and construction of new sports field No.1 compliant lighting infrastructure upgrades at Mike Carney Toyota Park, 165 Hugh Street, Currajong, Townsville, QLD 4812. Purpose The purpose of this project is to repair and restore the lighting infrastructure on Field No.1 only, to a standard that achieves lighting quality and visibility to support night-time rugby fixtures and training. The proposed works will provide a modern, energy-efficient and reliable lighting system that improves lighting performance, supports current sporting activities and complies with relevant operational and performance requirements. Scope The project involves the decommissioning, removal and replacement of the existing sports Field No.1 lighting infrastructure. The works are anticipated to include: Decommissioning and removal of existing sports Field No.1 lighting infrastructure Design and certification of new sport lighting compliant with relevant standards, including but not limited to Australian Standards AS 2560.2:2021 and AS 4282:2023 as updated Supply and installation of new lighting poles, footings, luminaires and associated mounting systems Supply and installation of electrical infrastructure, cabling, switchboards and control systems, where existing assets are unsuitable, insufficient, redundant and can no longer be used Associated civil and structural works required to support the new lighting installations Testing, commissioning and verification of lighting performance requirements Provision of all certifications, warranties, operating manuals and as-constructed documentation Handover of the completed works to TDRU, inclusive of an Independent Commissioned Lighting Report Contractor Requirements Must be a suitably qualified and experienced Design & Construct (D&C) Electrical Contractor Responsible for coordinating all aspects of the works to ensure compliance with applicable legislation, workplace health and safety requirements, environmental obligations, and relevant Australian Standards Must minimise disruption to sporting activities and maintain safe operation of the facility throughout the construction period Will report directly to PlanPac as the nominated Client-side Project Manager for the duration of the works Instructions to Tenderers Tenderers will need to register for a free adcentre account in order to download the tender documents.
