About this tender

Overview Santos Limited (WA) is delivering the Moomba Central Optimisation (MCO) Project, a major infrastructure development located in the Cooper Basin, South Australia, to modernise and optimise upstream gas operations through consolidation of compression infrastructure and electrification of key facilities. Purpose The MCO Project is intended to deliver improved operational reliability, reduced operating and sustaining capital costs, and enable future development of gas resources within the Cooper Basin. It also supports emissions reduction objectives through improved energy efficiency and provision for future renewable integration. Scope The scope includes: Rationalisation of existing compression across multiple satellite facilities into a new Central Fields Satellite (CFS) Installation of new electric motor-driven compression at the Moomba Gas Plant (Moomba Plant Inlet Compression, MPIC) Construction of a new gas-fired power generation facility (Moomba Power Station) with a nominal capacity of approximately 45-50 MW Operation of the Moomba Power Station as an islanded, behind-the-meter facility supplying electricity via a high-voltage distribution network, including overhead transmission lines and associated electrical infrastructure, to both the CFS and MPIC facilities Design provision for future expansion and integration of renewable energy sources Installation of high-voltage electrical infrastructure, including switchrooms, transformers, and overhead lines Construction of pipelines and associated tie-ins to integrate existing field infrastructure Brownfield modifications to existing satellite facilities to enable decommissioning or bypass of legacy compression systems Supporting infrastructure including utilities, control systems, and site development works Execution will involve a combination of greenfield construction and brownfield integration works, leveraging established infrastructure, access corridors, and operational facilities within the existing hydrocarbon production area.

How to respond to this tender

A strong tender response is clear, compliant, and backed by evidence. These steps apply to most Australian and New Zealand public tenders.

Read the requirements in full

Open the official listing and download the full tender pack. Note the response schedules, evaluation criteria, mandatory conditions, and the exact closing time and lodgement method.

Confirm you are eligible and it is worth bidding

Check licences, insurances, certifications, and any conformance requirements before you commit. A quick bid or no-bid decision saves days of wasted effort on a tender you cannot win.

Answer every criterion with evidence

Respond to each evaluation criterion directly and back your claims with concrete examples, referees, and past performance. Address the buyer’s stated need, not a generic capability statement.

Lodge early through the official portal

Submit through the source portal well before the deadline. Late or incorrectly lodged bids are almost always rejected, so leave time for uploads, portal errors, and last-minute questions.
