Overview The City of Unley invites tenders from Tenderers for the construction of the Florence Street traffic-control and lighting upgrade in Fullarton, South Australia. About Council's Fullarton/Myrtle Bank Local Area Traffic Management investigations identified vehicle-speed concerns on Florence Street, a collector road posted at 40 km/h. The project will introduce four Watts-profile road humps and upgrade the pedestrian refuge at the Florence Street/Glen Osmond Road intersection. Public-lighting changes are also required to support the road-safety treatment. Objectives Reduce operating speeds and improve driver awareness along Florence Street Provide a compliant, accessible, landscaped pedestrian refuge at Glen Osmond Road Recognise that public Council/SAPN-managed lighting interfaces will be managed directly by Council with SAPN Maintain safe access for residents, pedestrians, road users and adjacent properties during construction Deliver durable, compliant assets with complete quality and as-constructed records Scope The Contractor shall provide all management, supervision, labour, plant, materials, temporary works, coordination, permits, testing, reinstatement and documentation necessary for complete delivery of the works, including the following. The scope includes: Preliminaries, site establishment, survey, set-out, service proving, approvals and management plans Traffic and pedestrian management, temporary access, notifications and staging Removal of existing pavement bars, affected pavement, median elements, taper line marking and other items shown for removal Construction of four 75 mm high Watts-profile road humps, piano markings and associated pavement reinstatement Supply and installation of permanent signs, posts, line marking and keep-left devices shown on the drawings Reconstruction of the Florence Street pedestrian refuge/median at Glen Osmond Road, including median kerb, concrete infill, walkthrough, tactile indicators, handrails, paving and landscaped area Pavement, kerb, footpath, block-paving and verge reinstatement and adjustment of affected service covers Inspection, testing, commissioning, defects rectification, clean-up, as-constructed survey and handover records Enquiries Contact: James Greenfield Email: procurement@unley.sa.gov.au
