Inclusive Environments Grant Request for Proposal
Tender Overview
About this tender
Overview Country SA PHN (SA Rural Health Network Limited) is inviting primary healthcare service providers to submit a proposal under the Inclusive Environments Grant Request for Proposal (RFP), outlining how grant funding would be used to promote a more inclusive environment for patients living with disability. Purpose People living with disability often experience significant barriers when accessing primary healthcare services, including physical accessibility challenges, communication barriers, and overwhelming stimuli in environments not designed with diverse needs in mind. As a result, people with physical, psychosocial, and intellectual disability can experience poorer health outcomes, lower levels of engagement with preventative care, and reduced confidence when accessing healthcare services. The Inclusive Environments Grant recognises that small and targeted changes can have a significant impact on a person's healthcare experience. By creating environments that are easier to access, navigate, and understand, services can promote greater participation, improve patient experiences, and support better health outcomes for people living with disability. Funding Grant funding of up to $50,000.00 (excl GST) is available to successful applicants. Grant proposals are expected to reflect the needs of the local community. Proposal ideas may include, but are not limited to: Height-adjustable reception desks and consultation rooms Accessible toilets and changing facilities Improved lighting and wayfinding signs Designated quiet waiting areas for people who may experience sensory overload or anxiety Sensory kits, noise-cancelling headphones or fidget tools Easy read versions of patient information, consent forms and health resources Visual communication tools, patient boards and communication cards Display of disability-inclusive messaging and resources Eligibility Eligible organisations to participate in this RFP grant include: General practices Allied health practices Medicare Urgent Care Clinics (Medicare UCCs) Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs)
