About this tender

Overview The Department for Energy and Mining (SA), through its Minerals Regulation Division, is establishing a Minerals Regulation Scientific and Technical Support Panel to support the work of DEM's Minerals Regulation Function. The panel will provide, on an ad hoc basis, independent specialist expert professional services for the review of the potential and actual environmental and social impacts of mining operations during the assessment of scoping, tenement applications and mining programs against legislative requirements, including the Mining Act 1971 and the Roxby Downs Indenture Ratification Act 1982. DEM may also require ad hoc expert advice during the life of mining operations, including in relation to compliance, and during closure. Purpose The intent of the panel arrangement is to identify suitably qualified and capable suppliers to support DEM's Minerals and Regulation Division. Objectives Establish a pre-qualified Technical Advisory Panel of suppliers Enable flexible engagement of services that meet specific project objectives and outcomes Support consistent quality and cost control Scope Suppliers may be engaged under nine broad service categories and may nominate to provide services in one or more of the following categories, according to their expertise: Geochemical (including, but not limited to, acid metalliferous drainage, acid sulphate soils, asbestiform minerals, radionuclides, uranium, cyanide) Geotechnical Tailings management Mine engineering Mine closure (general) Hydrology Social impact assessment Community engagement Environmental impact assessment (general) Enquiries Contact: John Fitzgerald, Contractual Phone: +61 (421) 058011 Email: john.fitzgerald3@sa.gov.au
