About this tender

Overview Tasman Council is seeking a contractor to carry out road resealing works under the 2026/27 Road Reseals Program. The package covers three roads where the existing surfacing has reached the end of its useful life and requires resealing. About Typical sealed road management involves annual resealing and major rectifying activities. Council has identified that the three roads within this package have surfacing that has reached the end of its useful life and therefore require resealing. Council expects to release additional packages of works later this year for roads that require pavement rehabilitation, upgrade or reconstruction. Scope Hardys Court The full length of Hardys Court, extending approximately 170 metres from White Beach Road to the cul-de-sac turning head, is scheduled for reseal. Hardys Court is a local road with a single lane in each direction on a relatively steep grade, terminating at a turning head. The resident of 9 Hardys Court has an ongoing request with Council to remove or ease a hump at the start of the driveway crossover due to their boat trailer scraping, which has been marked in blue by the property owner. The scope of works for Hardys Court includes: Resurfacing with C170 14mm/7mm double double seal for the full length and width of the existing seal, excluding the turning head 30mm thick 10mm nominal size dense graded asphalt overlay of the turning head, including repair and minor widening at edge breaks Sealing of all driveways (approximately 9 of) for 4 metres or to the property boundary (whichever is less) to minimise edge breaks and trafficking of gravel onto new seal, including minor surface level adjustments at 9 Hardys Court to reduce the gradient change Localised pavement repairs if required Ivan Court The full length of Ivan Court is scheduled for renewal, extending approximately 80 metres from Nubeena Road to the end of the existing seal. The first 26 metres has kerb and channel before transitioning to grass verge, and Ivan Court is a local road with a single lane in each direction, terminating at a turning area used by trucks for turning. The existing surface is in very poor condition with crocodile cracking and potholes, particularly at turning areas. The scope of works for Ivan Court includes: Pavement repairs, localised replacement and/or crack sealing where required to provide a suitable base for asphalt 30mm thick 10mm nominal size dense graded asphalt overlay Sealing of all driveways (5 of) for 4 metres or to the property boundary (whichever is less) to minimise edge breaks and trafficking of gravel onto new seal Coal Mine Road The segment of Coal Mine Road scheduled for renewal extends approximately 450 metres starting from Saltwater River Road to the end of the existing seal, in the locality of Saltwater River. Coal Mine Road is a rural road with a single lane in each direction, traversing relatively flat terrain along its alignment in this section. The road provides access to rural and residential properties, and notably to the Coal Mines Historic Site, walking tracks and the popular Lime Bay campsite. Tourist traffic including caravans and campervans is expected, particularly in holiday periods, and the timing of works should be planned accordingly. Heavy patching was undertaken approximately two years ago to address aged or weathered surface and potholes, and very few new defects have been observed in the existing surface or patched areas. The scope of works for Coal Mine Road includes: Resurfacing with C170 14mm/7mm double double seal for the full length and width of the existing seal Extension of seal for 6 metres at intersections with Turners Road and Rocky Drive, including base overlay and preparation works as required Sealing of all driveways (approximately 20 of) for 2 metres to minimise edge breaks and trafficking of gravel onto new seal Crack sealing or localised pre-treatment to be considered where crocodile cracking is present before reseal works Localised pavement repairs if required
