Overview The City of Hobart invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the activation and ongoing management of City Hall, one of Hobart's most iconic heritage-listed civic buildings, located in the heart of the city's Civic and Cultural Precinct. EOIs are sought from organisations, businesses, cultural institutions, venue operators, festivals, community organisations, or consortiums with the experience and capability to operate, program and activate City Hall while supporting its long-term financial sustainability and civic purpose. Scope The scope includes: Operation, programming and activation of City Hall, a landmark venue with capacity for up to 1,800 people Realising City Hall's potential as a year-round destination for cultural, community, tourism, educational, conference and event activities Supporting the long-term financial sustainability and civic purpose of the venue Contractor Requirements Experience and capability to operate, program and activate City Hall A strong vision for the activation of the venue Sound operational and financial capability Commitment to heritage-sensitive management and community access Applications must address all assessment criteria Site Inspection Date: Monday 7 September 2026 Instructions to Tenderers Key dates for this EOI process are as follows: EOI release: Friday 28 August 2026 Close of enquiries: Friday 25 September 2026 EOI submissions close: Friday 2 October 2026 Applications must address all assessment criteria and be submitted by Friday 2 October 2026.
