Audit and Risk Committee Independent Community Representative

Overview Strathbogie Shire Council is seeking expressions of interest for the appointment of two independent members to its Audit and Risk Committee for a three (3) year term commencing in December 2026. About The committee supports Council in discharging its oversight responsibilities related to financial and performance reporting, risk management, fraud prevention, internal controls, and assurance activities including internal and external audit and compliance with its policies and legal obligations. It performs its role by monitoring, reviewing and advising Council on matters set out in its charter, which can be found on Council's website at www.strathbogie.vic.gov.au. The Role The committee meets five times per year The committee comprises six (6) members: four independent members and two Councillors An allowance per meeting is payable to the independent members Role Requirements Applicants are required to hold a relevant degree qualification or demonstrate extensive experience in the fields of finance, risk, audit and public sector management Eligibility Information on the role of an independent committee member, eligibility requirements and selection criteria is available to assist prospective applicants and can be downloaded at www.strathbogie.vic.gov.au.
