Moyne Calls For Artists for 2027 Public Art Program
Tender Overview
About this tender
Overview Moyne Shire Council is calling for expressions of interest from artists across South West Victoria to take part in its BIG ART. SMALL TOWNS. public art program, with Expressions of Interest opening on 5 October 2026. About Following the inaugural exhibition, Council is introducing a single annual application process to select artworks for three exhibition periods between February and November 2027. The program transforms everyday spaces into outdoor exhibition sites at Koroit Theatre and Mortlake Community Hub, showcasing local and regional artists through large-scale installations. The current inaugural exhibition concludes in November 2026, making way for a youth-specific exhibition as part of Youth Fest celebrations. This is the only general Expression of Interest round for the 2027 program, with a separate youth application process to follow later in the year. Moyne Shire Mayor Cr Jordan Lockett said BIG ART. SMALL TOWNS. makes creativity visible in local communities and gives artists opportunities to showcase their work in places where people live, work and visit. Cr Lockett said the program builds on the first exhibition, with more regional artists to be featured across Koroit and Mortlake, and that having one application process for the year helps artists plan ahead while delivering a changing program of artworks for residents and visitors to enjoy. Funding Successful artists will receive a $1,500 artist fee per site Artworks will be professionally reproduced and displayed for approximately three months Eligibility Open to emerging and established artists Artists may submit existing works or propose new pieces, with no set theme How to Apply Expressions of Interest open on 5 October 2026 and close Friday 13 November 2026. Council will manage artwork production, installation and promotion for selected works. Details and the application form are available at: www.moyne.vic.gov.au/Public-Art
