Overview North East Water is seeking a suitably qualified contractor to complete maintenance desludging activities at the Myrtleford and North Wangaratta wastewater treatment plants during the summer period of 2026/27. Note this is an Advance Tender Notice only. Further details will be provided when the Request for Tender is released. Scope The scope includes: Mobilisation to the Myrtleford and North Wangaratta wastewater treatment plants Desludging and dewatering of the targeted lagoons Temporary stockpiling of biosolids Supply of all dredging and mechanical dewatering equipment, installed temporarily within designated onsite locations to allow for ongoing operation of the wastewater treatment plants Desludging of the Myrtleford Wastewater Treatment Plant Secondary Lagoon 2A (13ML, approximately 100m x 50m x 2.6m) Desludging of the North Wangaratta Wastewater Treatment Plant Primary Lagoon 1 (31ML, approximately 200m x 95m x 2.0m) Coordination with North East Water operations personnel for temporary bypass and isolation of aeration to keep the lagoons online where practical Determination of the mass of biosolids to be removed in consultation with North East Water, taking into account the estimated amount of sludge in the lagoon, the size of the lagoon, available budget, and allowance for weather Dedicated areas will be identified by North East Water to accommodate sludge drying and biosolids stockpiling within the confines of the wastewater treatment plant site. Contractor Requirements Experience in the desludging and stockpiling of biosolids Ability to provide suitable references contactable by North East Water Employees must hold current licences for all required equipment throughout the term of the contract Tenderers must be active on, or have submitted an application for assessment to be approved on, the North East Water OHS Approved Contractor Register Contract Terms and Conditions The work is intended to be completed under a Permit to Work North East Water will not engage individual suppliers for this project; purchasing of components and products will be completed by the Principal Contractor, who will be the successful tenderer Winning bidder details will be uploaded to the Buying for Victoria website following tender evaluation
