Strauch Reserve - Tennis and Netball Court Renewal

Overview The City of Greater Bendigo is seeking a contractor to undertake the renewal of the tennis and netball courts at Strauch Reserve, Gungurru Road, Huntly. The project involves the decommissioning of the existing asphalt courts and associated infrastructure and the construction of new acrylic surfaced concrete courts. About Strauch Reserve caters for both senior and junior sports including football, cricket, tennis and netball. The site features two football ovals, three dual purpose tennis/netball courts, a play space and social clubrooms. The facility is owned and managed by the City of Greater Bendigo and is home to the Huntly Football/Netball Club, Huntly Tennis Club and Huntly North Epsom Cricket Club. The site traditionally hosts the HDFNL Grand Final in early September, with significant crowd numbers in attendance. The tennis and netball club use the existing courts for training and competition, and the general public can access the courts for casual use via a booking system. Purpose The current asphalt courts are at the end of their useful service life and are sub-standard for today's training and competition needs. The proposed project will provide for enhanced use and greater safety for user groups. Scope This contract is for construction only. The scope of works includes but is not limited to: Mobilisation and site establishment including temporary accommodation, storage, access, temporary fencing, temporary signage, erosion and sedimentation control measures and all head office functions prior to commencing work Protection of retained trees and vegetation Protection of the existing infrastructure, utilities, and existing structures which are to remain Control of erosion and sedimentation Retain existing asphalt courts, to form base for the new court construction Demolish and legally dispose of other asphalt paved areas, drainage pipe, fencing, underground electrical assets, and any other infrastructure as per the supplied design drawings Dismantle existing bench seating, and store for reuse Dismantle existing light poles, luminaires and Interchange Shelter and transport to the City's Adam Street Depot For minor areas outside the existing court footprint: earthworks at subgrade level, removal and disposal of any unwanted spoil legally off-site, levelling, compaction, and trimming of site For the substantial area within the existing court footprint: construct varying depth blinding concrete layer to form the base for the new court slab Construction of new acrylic surfaced concrete courts and associated drainage, pathways, chainmesh fencing and other infrastructure Line mark tennis/netball courts and install sockets for netball and tennis posts as per Netball Australia/Tennis Australia standards Construct informal un-sealed carpark area Liaise with electrical and building subcontractors to facilitate the installation of new court lighting, Interchange Shelter, and associated infrastructure Liaise with Coliban Water/City of Greater Bendigo contractor to facilitate the relocation of the Sewer Maintenance Shaft and the Water Valve Landscaping works including rural fencing, bollard fencing, instant turf, topsoil/seed, and gravel areas Reinstatement of any roads, paths, fencing, or other works to provide as near as possible to a seamless function and appearance Provision of as-built drawings for all works forming part of this contract Cleaning up site and demobilisation including reinstatement of disturbed areas Exclusions Supply and installation of electrical services Supply, installation and commissioning of new light towers Supply and installation of new player/officials' Interchange Shelter Works to relocate Sewer Maintenance Shaft and/or Water Valve Instructions to Tenderers This Specification and the Drawings describe the project, which will be procured by Public Tender.
