Overpass 1 Installation and Dismantle

Overview This tender is for the installation, dismantle and removal of Overpass 1 supporting the FORMULA 1 AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX, held at Albert Park Reserve in Melbourne. About The Event is typically held in late-March or early-April each year, with the actual date usually confirmed by the Governing Body during the preceding November. The Event runs over four days (Thursday to Sunday inclusive), with track activity often occurring prior to Thursday, and features twilight racing with track activity generally concluding around 6:00pm. Construction of the necessary temporary infrastructure to support the Event is carried out over an approximately 12-week period. Dismantling and removal takes place immediately following the Event and must be completed within the timeframe set out in the relevant Oval and Event Area Occupation Programme, Road Closure Schedule and Construction Programme. All dismantling works, including final site facilities and final clean, are to be completed within six weeks of the Event. Scope This scope of works covers the installation, dismantle and removal of Overpass 1, inclusive of all transportation and loading out from/into the Tottenham Storage Yard (TSY). The Works Under the Contract include, but are not limited to: Preliminaries, including provision and installation of the Contractor's own site facilities in accordance with the Contractor's own requirements and relevant statutory requirements Transportation of Overpass 1 elements, inclusive of all modules, containers and other loose items, from TSY to Site in Albert Park, inclusive of loading at TSY and unloading at Site Installation of Overpass 1 in accordance with the plans and specifications contained or referred to within the Technical Specification, inclusive of excavation of clean fill to expose permanent in-ground footings, removal of ferrule protection and clean out of ferrules, cranage and bolting of modules for all span, stairs and hoist platforms, grouting of baseplates, installation of auxiliary items (including handrail connections, downpipes, wall/ceiling cladding panels/infills, individual stair tread/risers, cover plates/floor panels, and inter-module flashings), and backfill of footings with clean fill and stockpile of the balance of clean fill to the location nominated on Site by the Superintendent Provision of a Standby Crew during the Event period for maintenance and rectification Dismantle of Overpass 1 post Event in accordance with the plans and specifications contained or referred to within the Technical Specification, inclusive of excavation of clean fill to gain access to footings for dismantle, removal of auxiliary items and loading into AGPC containers for storage at TSY, unbolting and cranage of modules for all spans, stairs and hoist platforms, removal of grout from baseplates/footings, clean out of ferrules and installation of ferrule protection including appropriate waterproofing as necessary, backfill of permanent in-ground footings with clean fill to match surrounding levels as agreed with the Superintendent, and inspection of the assets and reporting of any damage or maintenance requirements to the Superintendent Transportation of Overpass 1 elements, inclusive of all modules, containers and other loose items, from Site in Albert Park to TSY, inclusive of loading at Site and unloading at TSY Repacking of Overpass 1 assets into TSY, inclusive of cranage Contractor Requirements Construction and installation of Event infrastructure is carried out over a twelve-week build period in the lead-up to the Event, in accordance with a strict construction program. Dismantle commences immediately following the Event and is completed within six weeks of its conclusion.
