Overview The State Library of Western Australia (State Library / SLWA) requires the provision of custom book boxes for its Better Beginnings Program. About The Better Beginnings Program provides books to families in Western Australia with children aged 0-5 years. The Program distributes resource packs to public libraries across Western Australia to support early literacy and family engagement initiatives. The Library Board of Western Australia (Library Board) is a statutory authority established under the Library Board of Western Australia Act 1951. The governance of the State Library is a responsibility of the Library Board. The State Library provides library services to the Western Australian community on behalf of the State Government and is a portfolio organisation within the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries. The mission of the State Library is to connect people and ideas. It provides services valued by the community through collections that tell the stories of Western Australia and connections that build a trusted knowledge and learning network for Western Australians. Its key objectives are: A State Library for everyone A State Library that embraces digital transformation A State Library that builds skills for the future The State Library collects library materials to provide Western Australians with free and equitable access to materials in response to their immediate needs for learning, growth and enjoyment. The State Library also has a responsibility to collect and preserve library materials created in Western Australia, by Western Australians or about Western Australia, and to ensure that the history and intellectual output of Western Australia is available to all. Under the Library Board of Western Australia Act 1951, the State Library also partners with local governments to support and enable public library services to be delivered to Western Australian communities. As part of this, the State Library provides centralised procurement of library materials on behalf of all 233 public libraries in the State of Western Australia and the Indian Ocean Territories. Purpose To improve the protection, presentation and sustainability of Better Beginnings Program resources, the Program has transitioned from using bags to custom-sized printed boxes. The boxes provide a more robust packaging solution for storage and distribution, helping to ensure materials arrive in good condition. This approach also supports the SLWA's commitment to environmental sustainability. Scope The scope includes: Provision of custom-sized printed book boxes for the Better Beginnings Program This Request is to establish a single-supplier Panel Arrangement for the provision of boxes for the Better Beginnings Program. Contract Terms and Conditions SLWA can make no guarantees and makes no representation as to the number of Orders to be placed or the value or volume of Goods to be purchased under the Contract SLWA shall not be liable for any loss incurred by the Contractor as a result of forward provisioning of Goods in anticipation of Orders being placed, where such Orders do not eventuate Instructions to Tenderers Refer to Schedule 2 for full details of the Specification/Statement of Requirements.
