Campbell Rd Stage 2 Reconstruction SLK 0.45-1.05

Overview The City of Albany is seeking a suitably qualified contractor to undertake the full reconstruction of Campbell Road between North Road and Cockburn Road, and asphalt resurfacing works only from Cockburn Road to Middleton Road, Centennial Park. Campbell Road is a District Distributor Road forming part of an important link between the Albany CBD and the Spencer Park Precinct. Reconstruction of Campbell Road is required due to failing surfacing and poor condition of kerbing, footpath and drainage infrastructure. The project will incorporate a 3m wide dual use path on the eastern side of Campbell Road, with a raised crossing through Bathurst Street. Scope The scope of work is detailed within the Contract Drawings for Campbell Road Reconstruction, the Technical Specification, and the specific requirements set out below. Contract works will involve two different methodologies: Works between North Road, up to but excluding the Cockburn Road roundabout, will consist of full road pavement reconstruction to subgrade level, primer seal, 40mm asphalt structural layer, 30mm asphalt wearing course, and new kerb and drainage pits and lids Works between Cockburn Road, including the Cockburn Road roundabout, up to Middleton Road will involve a 70mm cold plane profile, primer seal, 40mm asphalt structural layer, 30mm asphalt wearing course, and new kerbs and drainage pits and lids The scope includes: Handling, removal, carting and disposal of spoil, demolition and waste construction materials, with all associated costs borne by the Contractor Disposal of clean fill spoil at the City of Albany's Waste Facility on Hanrahan Road, subject to prior approvals and material meeting 'clean fill' requirements, with the Contractor responsible for sorting and disposing of reinforced and unreinforced concrete as required Carting and stockpiling of all cold planed material at the City of Albany Depot, located 6 km from the site on Mercer Road, Walmsley, for future use by the Principal, with the exact location and access to be agreed with the Superintendent prior to carting commencing Provision of traffic control and detours for both road and pedestrian traffic for the duration of the project, including a mixture of full road closures with detours and single-lane closures with detours and local traffic only conditions Maintenance of access to all adjacent properties and businesses for the duration of the project Survey set out Identification, potholing and protection of existing services Stripping and stockpiling of topsoil Removal and disposal of existing kerbs, paths and drainage infrastructure Removal and reconstruction of existing gravel subbase and basecourse pavement 70mm nominal cold plane profiling Supply and installation of new drainage pits, pipes and culverts, including connections to existing drainage infrastructure Adjustment of utility covers to match new road and path levels as required Bituminous surfacing consisting of a single coat 10mm primer seal Asphalt structural layer and final running surface Blending into existing carriageways Supply and laying of concrete kerbing Driveway crossover construction Concrete dual use path construction, including raised road crossings and pedestrian ramps Installation of regulatory line marking and signage Traffic management Reinstatement of any damage to existing infrastructure to original or better condition Provision of a full 'As-Constructed' survey in accordance with the City of Albany digital data specification, as a requirement to meet Practical Completion of the Contract Contractor Requirements The Contractor shall meet the minimum requirements of the Technical Specification as supplied within the Contract Documents Contract Terms and Conditions Construction is proposed to start in early January 2027, with completion no later than 30 April 2027
