Lockyer Avenue Stage 1B - Resurfacing SLK 0.33-0.65

Overview The City of Albany is seeking to engage a suitably qualified contractor to undertake construction of the Lockyer Avenue Stage 1B Resurfacing contract, SLK 0.33-0.65, as shown on Attachment B – Location Plan. About Lockyer Avenue is a single lane arterial road and a major route into the central business district of Albany. The road carries over 9000 vehicles per day and is fronted by local and commercial businesses. Due to daytime traffic volumes, requirements to maintain service levels to surrounding businesses and to accommodate appropriate traffic management requirements, works are to be undertaken outside of normal business hours (Night Works) between the hours of 6:00pm and 6:00am (AWST). Normal Business Hours are defined as works carried out Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays) between the hours of 6am and 6pm (AWST). Night Works are defined as works carried out Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays) between the hours of 6pm and 6am (AWST). Scope The scope includes but is not limited to: All civil works outlined in Attachment A, Contract Drawings for Lockyer Avenue Reconstruction Works carried out in accordance with the Technical Specification outlined in Attachment F, Technical Specifications Providing all traffic management requirements to complete the works Providing any additional lighting required for the duration of the works Providing a site supervisor for the duration of the works Ensuring road surfaces are maintained and trafficable between shifts Maintaining pedestrian access to businesses at all times Maintaining access for normal and after-hours deliveries to businesses Issuing notices to residents and businesses prior to works being undertaken Providing a noise management plan 4 weeks prior to commencing works to the City of Albany Environmental Health team for approval Handling, removal, carting and disposal of spoil, demolition and waste construction materials, with all associated costs borne by the Contractor Sorting and disposing of reinforced and unreinforced concrete in line with the City of Albany's differing charge rates Carting all cold planed material to and stockpiling it at the City of Albany Depot, located 5.5 km from the site on Mercer Road, Walmsley, for future use by the Principal, with the exact location of and access to the spoil site agreed with the Superintendent prior to carting commencing Contractor Requirements The Contractor shall meet the minimum requirements of Attachment F, Technical Specification Contract Terms and Conditions Practical Completion is to be achieved before Friday 30th April 2027
