About this tender
Overview The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (WA) is seeking a contractor for the construction of a new walking trail at Red Gorge, in Karijini National Park. The work is funded through the WA Government Outdoor Adventure Tourism program. A detailed design and specifications have been prepared and are provided as part of this request. Purpose The project will provide an alternative and new recreational offering to park visitors, in particular to physically limited park users and during wet weather when the gorges are closed. It will also provide spectacular views over the deepest gorge in Karijini. Scope The scope includes: Construction of a stacked loop trail design of approximately 4km, with the first loop constructed as class 2 and the additional loop constructed as class 3 Construction of a trail leading to 4 minor lookouts (these lookouts are to be constructed by others) Clearing of vegetation Soil compaction Construction of rock steps Rock armouring Drainage management Installation of signage Contract Terms and Conditions The final contract award remains subject to budget approval It is anticipated the successful contractor will be onsite to commence construction works in April 2027, to coincide with seasonal conditions more conducive to construction activities in the Pilbara Enquiries Contact: Joanne Murray Email: jo.murray@dbca.wa.gov.au
