Overview The City of South Perth is seeking expressions of interest from individual artists, groups of artists, curators or community artists to display their work at Box Gallery, Manning, in the 10 permanent public exhibition boxes at the Manning Community Centre. About The illuminated lightboxes showcase the vision and creativity of Western Australian artists and community groups. The boxes were installed in 2017 and have exhibited a number of works by local artists, as well as collaborations between artists and local community groups. Local artist Anne Gee is currently exhibiting at the Box Gallery, featuring pieces created from single-sheet papercuts that glow from within after dark. Scope The scope includes: Display of artwork in the 10 permanent public exhibition boxes at Box Gallery, Manning, for the exhibition period 7 December 2026 to 19 March 2027 There is no set theme for the display, allowing artists to think outside the box. Applicants may be inspired by the following prompts: Exploration or surprise Interactivity and engagement with people on-site, and off-site using digital media Memory and people re-discovering where they live Site-specificity and country in context Funding Successful exhibitors will be awarded $3,500 ex GST for this opportunity.
