The works involve replacing deteriorated coastal balustrade and retaining wall infrastructure along approximately 286.92 metres of West Coast Drive. Works include civil works and stainless-steel balustrade installation, to improve public safety, durability and long-term performance. The Contractor must complete all works as directed by the City and in accordance with the technical requirements, performance criteria, relevant standards and site conditions. The works are divided into two categories: Wall Rebuild and Stainless-Steel Balustrading. The City may award both categories to one tenderer or one category to each of two tenderers. Category 1 Wall Rebuild Civil works along West Coast Drive from the North Beach Road roundabout to opposite 225 West Coast Drive (approx. 286.92 m). Scope includes: Demolish existing Type-1 balustrade (approx. 286.92 m) Demolish and reconstruct the retaining wall in the blue section (approx. 67 m) Inspect and remediate the exposed limestone wall Construct new coping stones for stainless steel balustrade installation Category 2 Stainless Steel Balustrading Supply, fabricate and install stainless steel balustrading along West Coast Drive from the North Beach Road roundabout to opposite 225 West Coast Drive (approx. 286.92 m). Basis of Contract Award The City may award both categories to one tenderer or one category to each of two tenderers Site Inspection Location: Car park in front of 221 West Coast Drive, near Hamersley Street Date: Wednesday 17 June 2026 Time: 11:00AM The Site Briefing (refer to Conditions of Tendering Clause5.3) will provide Tenderers with the opportunity to clarify any uncertainties about the IFT prior to the Tender Deadline. Pre-registration is requested via the Enquiries function of this request. Signing of the attendance register will take place at the Briefing. Sub-contractors, sub-consultants and tradespeople are welcome to attend the Briefing also.
