Overview Rio Tinto Limited is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably experienced fire systems contractors for the upgrade of the Fire Detection and Alarm System at Yurralyi Maya Power Station (YMPS). About The existing fire detection network serves the Central Control Room, Gas Turbine Generator (GTG) enclosures, Local Control Rooms (LCRs), MCC rooms, 11 kV switchrooms, Water Treatment Plant, fire pump monitoring systems, and associated special hazards protection systems throughout the power station. The existing F3200 platform has been declared obsolete by the manufacturer and replacement is required to support long-term reliability, maintainability, and parts availability. Purpose The project objective is to replace obsolete Vigilant F3200 Fire Detection Control and Indicating Equipment (FDCIE) and associated networked sub-indicator panels with current generation Vigilant MX1 fire panels while maintaining the existing fire protection philosophy, operational functionality, and integration with site fire protection systems. The project will be undertaken within a live operational power station environment and shall minimise disruption to power station operations while maintaining fire protection coverage throughout the upgrade works. Scope The scope includes: Replacing existing Vigilant F3200 Fire Indicator Panels (FIPs), Fire Detection Control and Indicating Equipment (FDCIE), and associated sub-indicator panels with Vigilant MX1 panels Providing suitable MX1 panel configurations for all locations currently protected by the F3200 network Replacing obsolete panel hardware, power supplies, batteries and associated control equipment as required Assessing the existing fire network infrastructure and developing a migration strategy to transition from the F3200 platform to the MX1 platform Utilising existing network infrastructure where suitable Minimising replacement of network cabling where existing infrastructure remains fit for purpose Maintaining communication between fire panels, control room annunciation and monitoring systems Contractor Requirements This EOI seeks contractors with demonstrated experience in: Vigilant MX1 fire alarm system design and commissioning Migration of legacy Vigilant F3200 systems Live brownfield upgrades of operational industrial facilities Fire detection systems protecting gas turbine and power generation assets Integration of fire systems with gaseous suppression systems Fire system networking and graphical monitoring systems AS 1670.1 compliant fire detection system design and commissioning Delivery of projects within high-risk mining, oil and gas, or industrial facilities Instructions to Tenderers This scope of work is a summary description of goods and/or services that may be required by Rio Tinto and may be subject to change in Rio Tinto's absolute discretion.
