(Closed for Invites) ServiceNow Technical Architect

Overview The Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources (DISR) is seeking a ServiceNow Technical Architect and System Administrator to support and continually develop the department's ServiceNow platform, working with the internal DISR team, external vendors and other stakeholders. About DISR plays a key role in the Australian Government's agenda to create jobs and build a stronger, more resilient and competitive economy. The department's work builds on Australia's existing strengths, supports businesses to grow, and drives new opportunities for long-term productivity growth and prosperity, supporting the government's economic recovery plan following COVID-19. The Chief Information Officer (CIO) Division drives the digital agenda for the department, partnering with business areas and stakeholders to realise the department's digital policy objectives, define the department's digital landscape, and drive innovation and transformation of its IT services. The ServiceNow Platform section manages the department's implementation and ongoing sustainment of the ServiceNow platform. The Role The role will undertake activities to ensure the system meets the functional requirements of users and stakeholders, meets performance thresholds and remains sustainable into the future, while complying with DISR and industry principles, standards and best practice. Key duties and responsibilities include: Advising DISR on complex ServiceNow matters including architecture and platform strategy, licensing, technical matters to ensure no technical debt is incurred in any build, appropriate patching and upgrade strategies, appropriateness of technical design of all build work, and security and platform hardening Taking a lead role in administering the platform, including troubleshooting and resolving incidents, performing minor enhancement work, performing ServiceNow platform configuration activities, platform onboarding and management of external vendors (including access and development quality), creating or contributing to design and security documentation for new solutions, and mentoring and upskilling internal staff members Collaborating with cross-functional agile teams including product owners, business analysts, developers, architects and testers, in accordance with stakeholder requirements and broader departmental objectives Communicating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, both internal and external to the department Communicating and collaborating with external vendors to meet departmental outcomes Working closely with the technical lead and platform leadership team Role Requirements Experience and knowledge administering the ServiceNow Protected Platform (SPP) Experience working with ServiceNow in a government setting Strong "1st principles" troubleshooting skills Strong knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) principles Knowledge and experience with ServiceNow concepts and tools, including but not limited to knowledge management, flow designer, service bridge, scripting and notifications Experience working with the following ServiceNow modules: Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM), HR Service Delivery (HRSD), and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Strong knowledge of development and security best practices when delivering ICT solutions The ability to perform, collaborate and deliver ICT solutions within an agile team and with external vendors Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to produce artefacts to support executive decision making Enquiries Buyer contact: ICTSourcing@industry.gov.au
