Mental Health Multidisciplinary Services Program – Host Sites

Overview Capital Health Network (CHN), the ACT's Primary Health Network, has been selected by the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing (the Department) to commission mental health multidisciplinary services for people with complex mental health needs in ACT primary care settings until 30 June 2028. This Request for Tender (RFT) is seeking applications from Host sites to participate in the Mental Health Multidisciplinary Services Program. About This open RFT follows the Expression of Interest (EOI) process, which closed on 5 June 2026. Following the EOI process, CHN has defined an appropriate service model, budget and key performance indicators for the Program. Procurement for the Program components has been separated into two RFT processes: this RFT is for the Program's "Host" sites, and a separate RFT has been undertaken for a "Hub" organisation. This Approach to Market is funded using Primary Health Network program funding from the Australian Government, Department of Health, Disability and Ageing. Purpose This funding will embed mental health multidisciplinary practitioners within primary care environments to safely manage people with complex mental health needs within the community. The Program will complement existing clinical treatment services under the Better Access to Psychiatrists, Psychologists and General Practitioners through the Medicare Benefits Schedule (Better Access) initiative and other mental health, health, and wellbeing supports, including state-based service models. It will serve to support general practices, ACCHOs, allied health, and the primary care system to safely manage and support people with complex mental health needs within the community. Scope The scope includes: Hosting Mental Health Multidisciplinary Services (MHMDS) Practitioners within a primary care environment Receiving and managing referrals to MHMDS Practitioners facilitated by GPs Providing individualised support to program participants based on their unmet needs, factors impacting their mental health, and the Practitioner's scope of practice Facilitating close collaboration between GPs and MHMDS Practitioners to provide effective, wrap-around care for people with complex mental health needs Eligibility Applications are sought from general practices, Aboriginal Community Controlled Healthcare Organisations (ACCHOs), and other equivalent primary care providers An organisation that has applied for the Hub RFT may also apply for the Host RFT, provided eligibility requirements are met Tender Briefing Date: Tuesday 18 August 2026 Time: 6pm Register your interest in attending the Briefing Session via Eventbrite.
