2027 SHAPE Curatorial and Exhibition Management Service

Overview The NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) is seeking quotations from qualified suppliers to provide design, curatorial, and exhibition management services for the 2027 SHAPE exhibition. Purpose The purpose of this Request for Quotation is for NESA to seek quotations and assess the suitability of qualified suppliers to provide design, curatorial, and exhibition management services. Objectives The primary objectives that the supplier of design, curatorial, and exhibition management services is required to achieve as part of its relationship with NESA are: Provide comprehensive exhibition design and curatorial services, ensuring that all design elements are appropriately aligned with the spatial layout and functional requirements of the UTS exhibition venue Proactively identify and resolve issues related to the design, fabrication, or installation of the SHAPE exhibition, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines and quality outcomes Plan, coordinate, and manage the exhibition build, ensuring delivery is completed within the agreed project schedule and in full compliance with the approved specifications and scope of work Oversee and administer subcontractor agreements and workflows (where subcontractors are engaged), ensuring that all parties meet performance expectations, adhere to compliance obligations, and maintain the required quality standards Manage stakeholder relationships, including those with subcontractors, students, and NESA's Events and Engagement team, to ensure effective communication, collaboration, and high-quality service delivery throughout the duration of the project Scope The scope of this RFQ encompasses the engagement of a suitably qualified and experienced supplier to provide design, curatorial, and exhibition management services for the successful delivery of the 2027 SHAPE exhibition. The exhibition will showcase a selection of outstanding major projects from the subject areas of Design and Technology, Industrial Technology, and Textiles and Design, which were undertaken and submitted by 2026 Higher School Certificate (HSC) students in New South Wales. The scope includes: Presentation of up to 55 major projects, comprising approximately 45 physical projects and 10 multimedia-based projects Management, transport, and installation of projects that vary considerably in size, materials, portability, and fragility, using appropriate handling procedures to mitigate the risk of damage Contract Terms and Conditions The SHAPE exhibition is scheduled to be delivered at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Broadway campus The exhibition will be open to the public from 15 March to 14 April 2027 (inclusive) Bump-in is scheduled to occur from 11 to 14 March 2027 Bump-out is scheduled from 5pm on 14 April to 12pm on 16 April 2027
