About this tender

Overview The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) NSW is seeking suitably qualified contractors to undertake vegetation and bushfire fuel management services across three regions of the Sydney Metropolitan Area (Sydney South, Sydney Central and Sydney North West) under the Crown Lands Asset Protection Zones Program for the 2026-27 financial year. Purpose The purpose of this project is to undertake routine maintenance of Asset Protection Zones (APZs), Outer Protection Areas (OPAs) and Strategic Fire Advantage Zones (SFAZs) across the Sydney Metropolitan Area to reduce bushfire fuel hazards and maintain defendable space around assets and other identified values at risk. The project aims to improve bushfire resilience while balancing fuel reduction with the protection of biodiversity, habitat, soil stability and other environmental values. To support efficient service delivery and maximise market participation, the procurement has been divided into three geographic regions: Sydney South, Sydney Central and Sydney North-West. Suppliers may submit a response for one, two or all three regions. Each region will be evaluated independently, with contracts awarded on a regional basis to the supplier(s) offering the best value for money. This approach provides flexibility to appoint one supplier across multiple regions or different suppliers to individual regions, depending on the evaluation outcomes and operational requirements. Scope The procurement will engage suitably qualified contractors to undertake vegetation and bushfire fuel management services across three regions of the Sydney Metropolitan Area (Sydney South, Sydney Central and Sydney North West), with works undertaken in accordance with site-specific environmental approvals, legislative requirements and relevant environmental management practices. Suppliers may submit offers for one, two or all three regions, with each region evaluated and awarded independently. The scope includes: Selective vegetation management through pruning, thinning, crown lifting, slashing, brush cutting and fine fuel reduction Weed identification, treatment and removal, including targeted herbicide application where approved Green waste management, including mulching, removal and lawful disposal of vegetation material Environmental protection measures, including threatened species protection, hygiene controls and erosion prevention Site inspections, work reporting, photographic evidence and completion of required compliance records using nominated reporting systems Provision of all labour, plant, equipment, vehicles, PPE and supervision necessary to safely deliver the works Contractor Requirements Suitably qualified to undertake vegetation and bushfire fuel management services Enquiries Primary contact: Sean Giumelli, tenders@dpird.nsw.gov.au

Answer every criterion with evidence

Respond to each evaluation criterion directly and back your claims with concrete examples, referees, and past performance. Address the buyer’s stated need, not a generic capability statement.
