Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Place-Based Treatment

Overview The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing is offering this grant opportunity to support the delivery of evidence-informed alcohol and other drug (AOD) treatment services that help reduce the harms associated with AOD use and support recovery. Objectives The grant opportunity aims to: Improve treatment access and outcomes Reduce harmful AOD use and psychological distress Enhance social inclusion and economic participation Contribute to long-term reductions in AOD-related harm Funding Funding will support withdrawal management, rehabilitation, aftercare and other treatment pathways that improve access to care, respond to individual needs, and strengthen connections to broader health and social supports. Eligibility Applications cannot be considered if all eligibility criteria are not satisfied. A grant cannot be provided if the applicant receives funding from another government source for the same purpose or activity, except where a joint contribution from Commonwealth, state, territory or local government is specified in section 3.1 of the Grant Opportunity Guidelines. To be eligible, applicants must be one of the following entity types: An Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Corporation registered under the Corporations (Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006 A Company A Cooperative A Corporate State or Territory Entity An Incorporated Association A Sole Trader A Statutory Entity A Partnership An Unincorporated Association If applying as a Trustee on behalf of a Trust, the Trustee must have an eligible entity type as listed above. Applications from consortia are acceptable, provided there is a lead organisation that is solely accountable to the Commonwealth for the delivery of grant activities and is an eligible entity as per the list above. Only the lead organisation can submit the application form and enter into a grant agreement with the Commonwealth. Eligible organisations can form a consortium with ineligible organisations, with the exception of those organisations deemed ineligible because they are included on the National Redress Scheme's website on the list of "Institutions that have not joined or signified their intent to join the Scheme".
