We're inviting carnival operators to express interest in being part of our community event for New Year's Eve 2026. The event is family-friendly, alcohol-free and will include food trucks and entertainment around Wollongong Harbour. As well as being part of the program for New Year's Eve 2026, carnival attractions will have the opportunity to operate before and after the event as shown below. Event: New Year's Eve, Thursday 31 December 2026 Carnival dates: Maximum of five consecutive operational dates between Saturday 26 December 2026 and Sunday 3 January 2027. Selection criteria We will be assessing applications based on the following criteria. You will need to attach information to your application that shows how you meet these criteria. Previous experience at large scale events. Suitability to the operation footprint / physical space available at Lang Park, Wollongong. Year, manufacture and quality of the rides Variety of rides available. It is important that the attractions include a mix of teen / adult rides, under-12 rides and games. Past safety record. Quality of the documentation provided, such as a sample event management plan, waste management, Public Liability Insurance, site map and risk assessment.
