Overview Narrabri Shire Council is seeking quotations for its Casual Plant Hire List for the 2026/2027 Financial Year. Contractors are invited to submit rate cards for consideration for the upcoming annual term. About Council employs a workforce to construct and maintain public infrastructure such as roads, water, sewerage, parks, reserves and bridges. Council's workforce may require the assistance of subcontractors in the business of offering plant and equipment for hire on a casual basis. Such plant and equipment may be hired with an operator (Wet Hire) or without an operator (Dry Hire). Council advertises on an annual basis seeking quotations from subcontractors willing to hire plant and equipment, with or without an operator, to Council for an hourly, daily, weekly or monthly rate. Weekly and monthly rates are normally discounted daily or weekly rates. To assist authorised Council employees engage appropriate, registered, insured, well maintained plant with competent, safety compliant operators, Council compiles a Casual Plant Hire List of subcontractors, from quotations received at the advertised closing time, that will be eligible for hire on an hourly, daily, weekly or monthly basis.
