About this tender
Overview The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry is seeking a supplier to provide venue, equipment hire and catering services for the 29th Session of the Codex Committee on Food Import and Export Inspection and Certification Systems (CCFICS29). About The Codex Committee on Food Import and Export Inspection and Certification Systems (CCFICS) has been hosted and chaired by Australia since 1992. The committee is held under the auspices of the Joint Food Programme of the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) and World Health Organisation (WHO). The committee develops internationally agreed principles and guidelines for food import and export inspection and certification systems with a view to harmonising methods and procedures which contribute to the protection of the health of consumers and facilitate international trade in foodstuffs. The ongoing work of CCFICS provides an important avenue for countries and international governmental and non-government organisations to discuss issues related to food safety and quality and international trade. Purpose As host of this committee, it is Australia's responsibility to provide a quality venue for this international meeting, which includes catering for delegates and the provision of audio and visual equipment necessary to support simultaneous interpretation of proceedings in three languages.
