This includes regular mowing of grassed surfaces, cutting and controlling weeds around and within graves, monuments and boundary fences, and maintaining clear and tidy edges throughout the cemetery grounds as well as the cleaning of litter and debris within the cemeteries or surrounding area. The scope also includes maintaining the grassed areas along roads, footpaths and street frontages adjoining each cemetery, ensuring a consistent and presentable appearance. All works must be carried out with due care to avoid damage to graves and memorials, minimise disruption to visitors, and comply with relevant work health and safety and environmental requirements. Herbicides must not be used without prior approval. Approval will only be given by Greenspace Coordinator if proposed user has a current Chemcert Certificate. Works are not to be conducted while services are being conducted within the grounds. Works schedules should consider specific dates for best presentation during high visitation periods such as Mothers day, Fathers Day, Easter & Anzac Day.
