EOI St Marys Senior College, Maitland Landscaped Flood Wall Project
Tender Overview
About this tender
Overview The Catholic Diocese of Maitland Newcastle (CDMN) is inviting Respondents to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the construction of a landscaped flood wall at St Mary's Senior College, Maitland. About The Diocese of Maitland Newcastle represents the Catholic Church in a region extending from Lake Macquarie to Taree and as far inland as Merriwa and Murrurundi. A diocese is a community of Christ's faithful, representing a portion of the people of God in a particular area entrusted to a bishop. Purpose The College Hall and Food Technology facilities are located within the lower-lying section of the St Mary's Senior Campus and are particularly vulnerable to inundation during flood events. The flood wall is intended to provide a practical and resilient barrier against floodwater ingress, protecting critical teaching spaces, equipment, building services and associated infrastructure from damage. The works form part of the wider flood mitigation strategy for the campus and are aimed at improving the operational resilience of the school, reducing recovery costs following flood events, and ensuring the continued use of these facilities during periods of extreme weather. The design will need to integrate with existing buildings, site access requirements and stormwater management systems while maintaining the amenity and functionality of the campus. Scope The scope includes: Design and construction of a permanent flood protection wall surrounding the College Hall and Food Technology facilities Electrical board changes Flood mitigation measures Waterproofing treatments Installation of reinforced masonry concrete flood walls Installation of demountable aluminium flood barriers at access points Hydraulic and drainage works Associated civil and stormwater works Provisions for internal drainage and pumping systems to manage rainfall runoff trapped within the protected area during flood events Surrounding hard and soft landscaping Relocation of the existing Main Switch Board (MSB) above the adopted flood level, including construction of a new elevated platform and access arrangement Electrical disconnections and reconnections Coordination with utility providers to ensure continuity of service Contractor Requirements Demonstrated experience in flood mitigation infrastructure, civil and building construction, stormwater management, and services coordination Experience delivering works within occupied educational facilities Evidence of capability to manage complex interfaces, maintain site safety, minimise disruption to school operations, and deliver high-quality outcomes within the constraints of an operational campus Instructions to Tenderers By participating in the RFT process and submitting an EOI, the Respondent agrees to be bound by this EOI. Tender enquiries should be directed via the online forum. All submissions must be collated into a single PDF file. Completed responses must be submitted via the electronic tender box. Respondents will receive a Successful Submission Receipt, timed and dated, upon completion. The Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle is not bound to accept the lowest priced Tender or all or any part of a Tender and reserves the right to conduct the Request for Tender process and select the successful respondent(s) as it sees fit.
How to respond to this tender
A strong tender response is clear, compliant, and backed by evidence. These steps apply to most Australian and New Zealand public tenders.
Read the requirements in full
Open the official listing and download the full tender pack. Note the response schedules, evaluation criteria, mandatory conditions, and the exact closing time and lodgement method.
Confirm you are eligible and it is worth bidding
Check licences, insurances, certifications, and any conformance requirements before you commit. A quick bid or no-bid decision saves days of wasted effort on a tender you cannot win.
Answer every criterion with evidence
Respond to each evaluation criterion directly and back your claims with concrete examples, referees, and past performance. Address the buyer’s stated need, not a generic capability statement.
Lodge early through the official portal
Submit through the source portal well before the deadline. Late or incorrectly lodged bids are almost always rejected, so leave time for uploads, portal errors, and last-minute questions.
