Establishment of SMART form governance framework

Overview The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing is seeking to establish a SMART form governance framework to support structured, interoperable healthcare data capture across the Australian digital health ecosystem. Purpose SMART Forms are emerging as a critical capability for enabling structured, interoperable healthcare data capture. There is a requirement to establish a nationally aligned governance framework to support national consistency, interoperability and reuse of SMART Forms, providing clear oversight, decision-making processes and operational arrangements. Scope The scope includes: Establishment of a governance framework covering the design, management, publication, maintenance and implementation of SMART Forms Alignment of the governance framework with Australia's national digital health architecture and interoperability agenda Adoption and use of HL7® FHIR®, AU Core and the Australian Core Data for Interoperability (AUCDI) within the governance framework Incorporation of national terminology assets and other endorsed digital health standards and artefacts
