Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) - Place-Based Funding

Overview The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing is offering grant funding under the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Place-Based Funding opportunity. Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder is a lifelong condition caused by prenatal exposure to alcohol, characterised by a range of physical, cognitive, behavioural, and developmental difficulties that can impact individuals, families, and communities. Purpose This grant opportunity is designed to strengthen the diagnosis and management of FASD across Australian communities. By providing targeted funding, the program will enhance local capacity for screening, diagnosis, and ongoing monitoring, while fostering greater community awareness of the dangers associated with alcohol consumption during pregnancy or when planning to conceive. Funding This grant opportunity will be made available through two streams: Stream 1: FASD Diagnostic Services Stream 2: Innovative Models of Care Applicants must nominate one primary stream that best aligns with the core purpose of the activities being proposed. Where activities could align to both streams, applicants should select the stream that reflects the main intent and outcomes of the proposal. Funding and reporting requirements will align to the nominated stream. Eligibility Applications cannot be considered if all eligibility criteria are not satisfied. Applicants may apply for grants under any Commonwealth program, but if an application for the same activity is successful under more than one, the applicant must choose either this Drug and Alcohol Program (DAP) FASD grant or the other Commonwealth grant. To be eligible, applicants must be one of the following entity types: Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Corporation registered under the Corporations (Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006 Company Corporate Commonwealth Entity Non-Corporate Commonwealth Statutory Authority Corporate State or Territory Entity Non-corporate State or Territory Entity Non-corporate State or Territory Statutory Authority Local Government Cooperative Incorporated Association Sole Trader Statutory Entity Partnership Unincorporated Association Tender Briefing A Drug and Alcohol Program Webinar will be held for this grant opportunity.
