Overview MidCoast Council is seeking suitably qualified contractors to construct drainage to selected sporting fields, as detailed within the tender specification. The works comprise seven sporting fields across three locations in the Taree and Old Bar area. Purpose MidCoast Council has identified the need to improve the drainage performance of seven existing natural turf sporting fields located at the Taree Recreation Ground, Old Bar Sporting Fields and Old Bar TRAD Sporting Complex. The project forms part of Council's 2026/2027 Capital Works Program and aims to reduce field closures following rainfall events, improve turf resilience and increase the availability of sporting facilities for community use. Scope The scope includes: Design, supply, construction, testing and commissioning of subsurface slit drainage systems integrated into existing playing surfaces at the seven sporting fields Verification of site conditions and development of a fit-for-purpose drainage design achieving the performance objectives specified within the Contract Ensuring compatibility of the proposed drainage systems with existing field geometry, grades and surrounding infrastructure Ensuring compatibility with existing stormwater drainage systems and approved discharge locations Identifying and incorporating any required adjustments to existing irrigation systems and underground services into the construction methodology Ensuring reinstated playing surfaces achieve a consistent appearance and playing performance with existing turf species and maintenance practices Ensuring completed works can be maintained using standard sports field maintenance equipment and practices, in line with Council's operational and maintenance requirements Compliance with relevant Australian Standards, applicable industry guidelines, Council specifications and best practice for the construction of natural turf sporting fields and subsurface drainage systems
