About this tender

Overview MidCoast Council is seeking submissions from appropriately qualified and experienced tenderers for the design and construction of the Wingham Sports Complex Lighting Upgrade. About Wingham Sports Complex is an established community sporting facility servicing rugby league, touch football and soccer, including junior and senior training and competition activities. Fields 3 and 4 are the primary illuminated playing fields within the complex and are currently serviced by six existing 20 m sports lighting poles fitted with metal-halide floodlights. The existing lighting infrastructure is approximately 20 years old and Council is seeking to upgrade the system to modern LED sports lighting to improve lighting performance, reliability, energy efficiency and ongoing maintenance outcomes. Field 5 is located immediately north of Fields 3 and 4 and is currently used predominantly as an overflow field for junior sport and training. The field does not currently have sufficient sports lighting to support regular night-time use. With increasing participation across the resident sporting codes, Council has identified the need to increase the usable capacity of the complex by providing compliant sports lighting to Field 5. The proposed works will extend lighting coverage to Field 5 through the installation of two new sports lighting poles along the northern side of the field and the utilisation of existing lighting poles on the southern side. Council is also considering the broader replacement of the existing metal-halide lighting servicing Fields 3 and 4 as part of the project. The completed lighting system is intended to achieve a minimum maintained average horizontal illuminance of 100 lux across the nominated playing areas, providing suitable lighting for evening training and community-level sporting use while improving the overall capacity and flexibility of Wingham Sports Complex. Scope The works generally comprise the detailed design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of new LED sports lighting infrastructure. Tenderers are required to provide separate submissions and pricing for two delivery options. The scope includes: Installation of two new sports lighting poles to Field 5, together with associated foundations, structural and electrical works and underground services Modifications to existing sports lighting infrastructure Option 1, Field 5 Lighting Expansion: Installation of two new sports lighting poles to the northern side of Field 5, together with new LED luminaires installed to the existing three poles located along the northern side of Fields 3 and 4, to provide a minimum maintained average horizontal illuminance of 100 lux to Field 5 Option 2, Field 5 Expansion and Full LED Upgrade: Installation of two new sports lighting poles to the northern side of Field 5, together with replacement and upgrade of the existing sports lighting across the six existing poles servicing Fields 3 and 4, to provide a minimum maintained average horizontal illuminance of 100 lux across Fields 3, 4 and 5 Completion of the works in compliance with the Contract Documents, relevant Australian Standards, statutory requirements and MidCoast Council requirements Contractor Requirements Tenderers must be appropriately qualified and experienced to undertake the design and construction of the Wingham Sports Complex Lighting Upgrade
