Overview Yass Valley Council is seeking a contractor to carry out partial demolition works on an existing tank at the Old Water Treatment Plant, to protect a proposed Telstra Communication Tower. About Yass Valley is located in the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales. Yass Valley Council (YVC) provides services and support to a community of approximately 17,400 people. YVC owns, operates and maintains water supply services in Yass town, Murrumbateman, Bowning and Binalong villages. The existing tank has not been in use since 1990 and is located near the footprint of the proposed Telstra Communication Tower. Scope The scope includes: Planning and mobilisation for the works Asbestos removal and disposal Structural support of the remaining tank structure Vegetation clearing Demolition of the nominated concrete structure Transportation and disposal of demolition waste Site reinstatement as required Additional foundation demolition, if required, as the existing tank foundation details cannot be confirmed due to the age of the structure Contract Terms and Conditions All work shall be completed by 15 October 2026 Work must be completed within 15 working days from the commencement of work at the site Tender Briefing and Site Inspection Council will be holding a mandatory on-site meeting for this opportunity.
