Overview The Department of Education and Training (NT) has opened an open and contestable funding round for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) seeking Apprenticeship and Traineeship (User Choice) delivery funding for 2027. The funding round supports the delivery of training services to apprentices and trainees and is open for 4 weeks. Purpose Funding in 2027 will focus on approved qualifications that align to the NTG key priority industries (Energy, Defence, Agriculture, Tourism and Hospitality, Gas and Mining) and the NT Skilled Occupation Priority List (NTSOPL) high priority occupations. Scope The scope includes: Delivery of Apprenticeship and Traineeship (User Choice) training services to apprentices and trainees employed on a part time or full time basis, or who are school-based, where the qualification is approved for School-Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship (SBAT) delivery Delivery of approved qualifications aligned to the NTG key priority industries (Energy, Defence, Agriculture, Tourism and Hospitality, Gas and Mining) and NTSOPL high priority occupations Eligibility To access User Choice funding in the NT, RTOs must: Be registered by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), Western Australian Training Accreditation Council (WATAC), or Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA) Have approved scope of registration to deliver the training package qualification for the relevant apprenticeship or traineeship as listed in the NT apprenticeships and traineeships database Be listed as a provider on the NT apprenticeships and traineeships database Funding Private provider AHC rates are available on the Department's website (Private provider AHC rates | NT.GOV.AU) Regional and remote loading is available in instances where the trainer travels to these locations to deliver face to face Certificate I qualifications are not funded Training for Public Sector Employees (NTG or Australian Government) is not funded Trainees identified as existing workers are not funded where the traineeship they are undertaking is not listed on the NT Skilled Occupation Priority List Funding is not guaranteed for funded RTOs where an RTO delivers in a qualification or location not identified in their training contract, where an RTO exceeds their allocation, or where an apprentice or trainee transfers from one RTO to another Instructions to Tenderers The following supporting document is available for this opportunity: GrantsNT User Manual (External) - v1.3.pdf Enquiries Name: Skills & Pathways NT Role: Department Phone: 0889357711 Email: trainingoperations@nt.gov.au
