About this tender
Overview Meridian Energy Limited is seeking an experienced construction contractor to deliver the Aviemore Powerhouse Seismic Strengthening works. Scope The works comprise the construction of a detailed, pre-designed seismic strengthening scheme, including the supply of all materials, labour, plant, temporary works, and associated services. The scope includes strengthening the following structural elements: The connection between the precast concrete cladding panels (Tee-columns) and the crane frames The connection between the Tee-columns and the powerhouse end wall frames The workshop frame and the mass concrete supported on the frame Roof bracing and the connection between the steel roof beams and perimeter capping beams The concrete capping beam The masonry walls of the dry storage area located on the Turbine Floor beneath the Unloading Bay The works will be undertaken within an operational hydroelectric power station and must be planned and executed to minimise disruption to ongoing generation activities while maintaining a high standard of safety, quality, and environmental performance. Out of Scope Any redesign of the strengthening scheme beyond minor constructability improvements Works associated with generation equipment modification or replacement Works associated with the upgrade of the cranes located within the powerhouse Long-term operations or maintenance services beyond construction completion Contractor Requirements The following items are critical to Meridian and will be key drivers in the evaluation of tenders: Safe delivery of the works within an operational hydroelectric environment Achievement of required seismic performance (target 100% NBS) Minimisation of disruption to ongoing electricity generation Demonstrated experience in complex structural strengthening projects Robust planning, staging and constructability approach Strong sustainability performance, including waste and emissions management Instructions to Tenderers A full tender pack is available on request to bona fide respondents (in Meridian's sole opinion) by returning the registration of interest form to the tender manager via Tenderlink.
